Class FAQs

What To Bring • What to Wear • What to Know

There's really not much to prepare before attending a yoga class.  Wear comfortable clothes, bring a mat - and come to class! Your yoga teacher will help you from there.

But wait. You probably have more questions - and we have a few more details to share.

Mats

Please bring your own mat. You can purchase mats at Target, Marshalls, at a sporting goods store, among many other places. If you forget your mat or haven't purchased one in time for your first class - no worries  - we have a few extras.

Clothes

Wear clothes you can move in and that don't restrict your movement.

Cotton or otherwise stretchy pants or shorts are ideal.

Tops that aren't too loose are best - the more form fitting, the better your teacher can see and help you adjust your alignment - and you don't want shirts that ride up too far when you move in different positions.

We often wear layers - tanks (or camis for women) beneath long sleeve shirts, for instance - to adjust for body heat changes.

For Feet

We practice barefoot, but during the winter months it's wise to bring a pair of socks for those quiet yoga moments when blood flow slows and body heat decreases. Ahh...

Studio Basics

Please remove your shoes when you enter the studio - the studio is a "shoe free" zone.

Cell phones need to be turned off - we'll try to remind you!

If you arrive late, please enter very quietly. If class is practicing meditation, simply sit quietly near the door for a few moments.

If you arrive early and the prior class is still in session, please wait outside until they are moving around after class. We do try to begin and end or classes on time, so you should be able to enter the studio 15 minutes early.

For New Students

Please try to arrive 10-15 minutes early.  We need you to complete a registration form and that will also give you some time to talk to the teacher one-on-one before class. You do not have to pre-register for any yoga class on our regular schedule.

(Please do call if you would like to enroll in a Pre-Natal Yoga, a series class not on the regular schedule).

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to call us! Otherwise - see you in class!
